Spa Scandinave is my new love <3

Oh my… what a week-end! Like I said in my previous post, our dear B-Oppa was in town this week-end therefore, we had to party like in the old days! It was a lot of fun and I wished I had taken pictures (B did but he has yet to send them to me). A friend didn’t feel so well towards the end of the night and she needed some care but in the end, everything ended well.

Except I’m exhausted!!

Some of you may know that I work (very hard!!) in a hotel and one of its perks is that I’m often invited to try out restaurant, touristic attractions and such so that I can recommend them to my guests. Recently, my hotel signed an agreement with a local spa allowing the staff to have access to the spa’s facilities for free!!

So I jumped on the offer and gave the spa a try! I love steam baths, saunas, hot and cold baths so I couldn’t miss this occasion. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera with me as this spa as a quiet policy and cameras would disrupt the peace in the spa but here are some pictures from their website!

Don’t you love the modern feel of this spa? The staff is very friendly and this is something I am extremely picky about since I’ve been working in hotels for years now. Once I introduced myself at the front desk, the clerk directed me to his colleague Xavier, the one I spoke on the phone with earlier that day. Xavier explained how the spa works and gave me a pair of sandals, a bathrobe and a bracelet to open my locker. The locker room is very impressive, the lockers themselves don’t work with keys and that is a major plus; I don’t like the smell of wet metal. Instead, the bracelet has a little magnet inside that matches the locker number, just like a hotel room key!

I spent the next 2 hours trying out the baths and saunas, following Xavier’s instructions; 15 minutes in a sauna or a thermal bath, a few seconds under cold water and 15 minutes of relaxation. I first tried the eucalyptus steam bath followed by a cold shower and then read a magazine about Yukon ( I had no idea Dawson City had so many ghost stories!!). Then I tried the thermal bath, the cold bath and relaxed in the Zero Stress Zone… where I fell asleep!

I’m the type of person who has a hard time falling asleep, especially if I’m not home, in my own bed and without taking my meds! I still can’t believe I fell asleep there! I think I dozed off for a good 40 minutes!! I then tried the sauna and relaxed again until I called it a day.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and if you have the chance, I recommend you try it out too! After I told Migy (who happens to be my best friend AND co-worker) we decided to give it a try together this week! Maybe this time, we’ll be able to sneak a picture here and there :)

Canmake Cream Cheek Review

Quite a decent blogger I’m becoming! Two updates in two days and I already have another blog post that I’m going to post later this week-end!

Lately my life has been pretty boring (work, school, work…) but I’m really happy since B-Oppa is back in Montreal! Long time readers will remember that B-Oppa is an amazing friend with whom I’ve had hilarious drinking adventures. We are going to hang out together this week-end for a friend’s birthday, I can’t wait to see everyone together again!

Other then knowing my friend is in town, I got a package in the mail this morning which made my day; 2 canmake cream cheek blushes!
05 Sweet Apricot and 02 Cherry Pink

I have to say, at first, I thought I got fake ones since they are ridiculously small! So I looked at pictures of people holding their Canmake blushes and it reassured me that it is supposed to be the same size of a L’Oreal HIP eye shadow duo (no pictures but I just compared them side by side and it’s the same). Even though it is ridiculously small, the packaging is amazingly cute and you really have a lot of product.

The cream blush itself is quite pigmented and I’m sure these are going to last me a very long time. It’s also very easy to apply; I don’t think I’m ever going to use powder blush ever again since it’s so much easier to apply and blend. Both blushes have glitter in it but they are very fine and the Sweet Apricot has less then the Cherry Pink.
I’m not really good when it comes to make-up reviewing terms and all… but overall; I love these blushes and now I realllllly want to get all the colors available!!

That’s it for today… sorry I didn’t take any pictures of me with the blush applied… I bruised my upper lip and it’s quite swollen right now; it looks like someone punched me in the face! I’ll spare you at least that =) edit: here are some swatches instead!

oh yeah, temporary template… in need for a change; I want a bit more color then just black and white this time~ please bare with me while I’m playing around~
UPDATE: Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers!! You guys are so silly for celebrating one month late~ Haha just kidding, have a nice holiday (and enjoy all that crazy shopping you guys have in the US!)

Gyaru, uh?

At first, I wanted to blog about the spa I went to today but then I realised you guys might start hating me if I have two posts in a row showing off awesome things I have or do( like my bathroom that everybody loves, yay!). Please don’t hate me T_T haha

Recently, I’ve come to realize that I really love gyaru fashion. Well it’s not a recent thing actually… but following so many gyaru bloggers is so inspiring… I feel like giving it a try too! Shawna’s recent post really got me motivated so I downloaded a few magazines and did a collage of the looks I liked the best!

looks based on items that I already have/can find easily here

For now, I’ll keep looking at more magazines and try to find my own little style in all that gyaru inspiration!

I have a collage from Ageha coming up but I’ll upload that one tomorrow… I should be sleeping already =P

My bathroom set-up!

Lately, a few bloggers have been blogging about their room and as much as I would love to show you mine… my room is just really boring. It used to be my little brother’s room but we switched since I wanted a bigger room and he is barely ever at home… but we didn’t bother redecorating since my parents are eventually going to sell this house when my dad retires (and force me to move out…haha)
However, I have a pretty neat bathroom that I share with my little brother and poor guy, I have taken over it with all my products! haha

What I like the most about my bathroom is how huge the mirror is and how bright the lights are. When I wake up, it’s often really dark outside (especially at this time of the year… it’s always dark!!) so being able to do my make-up with good lighting is great! :D

And a little plus… I put one of my piano’s banch in the bathroom because I’m a very lazy person and I rather sit down when I do my hair and make-up… teehee~

Skincare and hair products

I like to keep my make-up brushes in a cup since it’s much faster in the morning… I know dust can get in them so I wash them really often.

I try to keep my make-up organized in the first drawer; I bought these little baskets at my local dollar store; 1$ for three! The second drawer is for eyelashes and some of my circle lenses!

Hair gear!! The flat iron is a Limited edition CHI In love ; I got this one when I was living in France since my other straightener exploded (not kidding!) because of the voltage difference. Then I realised I couldn’t use this one either while I was living there XD I like it but I’m sad that it doesn’t have temperature control… Since I couldn’t use it in France I ended up buying a mini flat iron that had dual voltage that I leave in my locker :D
I recently the Hot Tools professional spring curling iron (1”) and I’m really happy with this one! I haven’t used a lot of curling irons before so I can’t review this… oh well~ I really like it :)

The first set of hot curlers by Hot Tools were also bought when I was living in France; they are so convenient since they have dual voltage (which means I can use those in Canada and in France!) they are also bigger then the larger rolls in the second set by Conair which is great when I want wavy-ish curls :)

Hope you enjoyer this post~ I want to cutify my bathroom a bit…I’m thinking of sticking Japanese make-up and outfit inspiration pictures on the mirror, any suggestions? :)

Yumetembou Loungewear <3

I recently ordered from Yumetembou with the wonderful Akane and we received our order last week! God Bless Japanese post… how is it that they are incredibly fast even when you pay for the most basic shipping option available? Oh well~

I was gonna make a review but I ended up camwhoring more so I’ll post every item in different posts (AND those are gonna count as outfit posts! Yay!)

The first item I fell in love is this cute lounge wear at 980Y

I’m really happy with this one! The fabric is really soft and the sizing is perfect =3 I usually go for medium when it comes to PJs, especially for shorts so I ordered a L and it fits perfectly! The straps are a little bit loose but that’s not a problem unique to this PJ… damn you small chest!!

I felt this picture is a little bit revealing legwise… but oh well~ I’ve got my plushie Big Doudou distracting you from the skin! 8D

I edited this picture in twelve different ways…

Didn’t want to let all that editing be useless… since I obviously LOVE the – clarity button in Adobe Lightroom!! haha

I tried today so make a new layout but I had absolutely no inspiration!! How depressing… I like my actual layout, I find it sleek but I want more color… this is why I never keep a layout too long… I like change! haha
Oh well… since I had planned on making a new layout, I camwhored quite a bit and one picture came out really nicely =D It’s a lot more easier to camwhore now that I have a remote for my camera!
Dress: Boutique Olivia
Necklace: Forever21
Sweater: Costa Blanca
Stole: H&M
Tight High Socks: Ardene (not on picture)
Maybe if you visited my blog while I was messing around the layout, you saw this picture as a banner but I didn’t really like it… there is something missing… oh well! I’ll give it another try some other time =)
In the meantime, something quite funny happened together. Today, I was chatting on skype with a friend who moved back to Korea. Since it was night time for him, he was in his bed and had his laptop on his night table (I do that all the time…). He suddenly got up to get water and I covered my eyes with my hands quickly and yelled :
It was quite hilarious… did something like that ever happened to you? Now that I think about it… it’s hilarious.
I’m probably going to ask my friend to make sure he’s wearing clothes the next time we skype!

Some of you have been asking about the giveaway winner and I just wanted to remind you that I already have announced the winner on twitter :)

The lucky winner has already been contacted and I will ship her prize this week! The lucky number was 3 and that corresponded to the following comment!

It's funny because Glo-w has been following my blog for quite some time now and I also read her blog daily so I'm happy that she won!

Don't worry girls, I'm going to make another giveaway very soon since we've reached 100+ followers already! Since this is a giveaway for you, what prizes you would like to win? :D

In the meantime, please add me on twitter; I updated my twitter everday so this is the best way to know what is going on and even sneak peeks of upcoming posts !

Give me 5 Minutes and I'll Buy Something Awesome #1

Thank you everyone for your kind advice about my hair… last Thursday, I removed the brown dye and dyed my hair using a beige color + 30vol peroxide and now I love the result! And, my hair isn’t as damaged as I expected it would be!

Next time I need a big hair change, I’ll make sure to ask you guys =)

So you are probably wondering what’s up with the title of this post… since I’ve been slacking off with updates lately and been really good at shopping instead, I decided that I would post every Monday (or most likely Tuesday early morning…) my best buy of the week =D A lot of you have been asking for fashion related updates and I haven’t quite mastered the art of taking a decent picture of my outfit of the day so I thought you might be more interested in new items I get and how I blend them with the rest of my wardrobe!!

So this week, we’re going to talk about this very cute little blue dress!

Store: Boutique Olivia in Les Courts Mont-Royal
Price: 12,99$ !!!

I used to be realllllly scared to shop in Les Courts Mont-Royal. For those who don’t live in Montreal, Les Courts Mont-Royal is known for being a mall that has only designer boutiques. Designers = $$$…. that’s what scared me for a long time but now that I work in the area, I always end up wandering in this mall and I’m not scared anymore: some stores are really worth a visit and are safe for your wallet!!

Back to the dress, I swear, I am in love with this it. I’ve never bought anything like that before so at first, I didn’t pick it out from the rack but I came back the day after… I could only think about this dress so I bought it without even trying it on (my lunchbreak was almost over!!).

One shoulder dresses seem to be everywhere this Fall so I’m glad I found a cute little dress that has 2 elements I was looking for; a flower pattern with a vintage feel and a modern cut!

So this is my best buy of the week! Later this week, I’ll show you a few outfit ideas for this dress gave me! If you have any suggestions, please leave a comment!
