Anime North dilemma

what do what do... share this pic I took?

I was discussing with DonDolce who was asking me if I was going to be at Anime North. Right now my answer is No.

Truth is I have no idea

My thing about conventions is cosplay. I’m not really into anime that much these days. I game moderately but my passion is creating costumes so I look for events that are ideal for that. Otakuthon is the perfect Canadian convention for cosplay for me because not only is it my home convention but it has amazing locations nearby the convention itself in walking distance to the convention center that are ideal for photoshoots. For people who are competing, the masquerade at Otakuthon is also known for being well organized.

With Anime North… the convention center is located in the middle of parking lot with little to no locations for photoshoots; the ones that are near the conventions center are so popular that they are almost impossible to use. People now to resort to driving away from the convention center and that is just not something that attract me as a cosplayer. As for the masquerade, the AN masquerade as a bit of a different reputation...

Anime North still remains a very fun convention and I have a lot of cosplayer friends who are based in Toronto. But being older now, running from panels to panels, missing on sleep and partying all night is just something that I can’t do and it seems to that that’s what a lot of AN is about… with my condition, I really have to take care of myself ;__; for Katsucon, I even made sure that my partner and I were on the same line about going to bed early and not partying that much!

So will I be at AN? I haven’t made a decision yet… I want to go again, but I don’t know if I want to invest in a great cosplay since that’s my thing and I feel I can’t do much of it there. It’s also quite expensive to travel to a convention too…

Keep is mind too that my last Anime North was extremely bitter, but then again, you should never base your opinion on a convention on personal interactions… right?

oh what do, what do...

Back up!

And we're back online!

Did you noticed this blog was out of the internet strato-whatever? Google Apps has got to be the worse way to manage a domain renewal. Why did they have to change it? It was a lot easier before, I could renew it right though, it was so simple... Then again, why keep something that's good and simple right? *cough* Google Reader *cough*

To be honest this blog has been a lot of nothing these days. I've been really busy with university; I'm in over my head with 5 history courses. Thankfully, I live on campus so it's a bit easier to manage than living at home in Dorval but these days I wish I was at home because we just adopted a new puppy!!

Her name is Pixel (although my mom insists in spelling is "Pixelle" because she's a girl, I'm not convinced on the spelling thing...), she's a Havanese bichon and she's 8 weeks old!!

Now, we have established in the past that if you hate dogs, you probably should never visit my blog ever again because this is turning into a puppy pictures craze sweety.

Isn't she just a little bundle of joy?

For anyone wondering, Echo is a still with us! He is the reason why we got Pixel in the first place, at 11 years old, we thought it would do him some good to have a companion :)

Montreal Comic Con 2013 Recap!

I'm so  lazy right now... is it still necessary to do a con recap? haha well let's do the highlights then ;)

I was attending Comic Con with IXDAILY.COM as media this year so on Friday, I met with Trent and Natania in my Babydoll cosplay and we wondered around the convention before attending :devKamuiCosplay:'s panel. It was a lot of fun and it was amazing to get tips from the Queen of Worbla herself!!

BIIIIIG Con day~ Before heading to the convention, Ray Lum and I had a shoot planned for Janna. We shot near my place, by the waterside... BUT IT WAS FREEZING OMG. We got a lot of amazing shots so it was all worth it :D At the con, Mao-Chan and I had been planning a really fun masquerade skit but poor Mao got an eye infection! Mao is a champ because she decided that she wanted to go on stage anyway and we perfomed! Kamui judged our costume and it was amazing to talk to her and tell her how we did our costumes. We were both starstruck but it was really nice to tell her that her tutorials not only motivated but helped me make Janna AND get on stage and show our cosplays off.

Our performance was good? We couldn't really hear our track too well because of the horrible feedback in the room. I had spent hours on the tracks so I knew our cues so hopefully we looked good on stage... We got a great response from the audience but I'm still waiting for the masquerade to be uploaded ...

After the masquerade, we both changed and parted ways. I hung out with Chris and Jack Liu for a bit and we headed for dinner with the masquerade staff and the guests! It was really cool to sit down with Kamui, Monika Lee and Jessica Nigri and everyone :D I got home pretty late on Saturday night and passed out haha.

The masquerade award ceremony was a 10:30 and the night before, I was hinted that I should attend so I did. Mao couldn't make it since she was still sick and had another event later. There was only 3 prizes in our category but when our names didn't get called I was a bit of a sad puppy... until they announced that they had 3 award from the guests! In the end... Mao-chan and I won the

Jessica Nigri Workmanship Award!!!

I was so happy! It was my first masquerade ever and I was so happy that we got an award AND from Jessica Nigri!! AAAAAHH!!! Congratulations to everyone who also won an award!

In the end, I spent the rest of the day walking around the convention, derping around with Nathania and Beevi :3

Comic Con was a lot of firsts and a lot of joy! My first masquerade was frightening thought but it was a joy to be rewarded something. I also bought a lot of comics (pretty sure no one is interested in that? haha) and prints :3

Janna Janna Janna!

Hi everyone! Now that I'm all settled down in my dorm room, I have a bit of time to do a complete write up about Janna! You guys have watched and seen the progression of my most ambitious cosplay so far so I feel like I should talk about it, right?

The idea of Janna came to me right after Anime North, where I cosplayed Miss Fortune. MF was fun but things went wrong there and I didn't want to cosplay MF again. Also, when I started playing league, I started with being an ADC but I changed to support because... I wasn't really good at being an ADC haha! My mains in league are Sona, Lulu and Nami but I have always been in love with Janna so I started playing her a bit more and I settled on cosplaying Janna.

I'm not a big fan on the North American art; I find that there isn't enough fabric on the bottom half. The Chinese version however is absolutely stunning! It's so dreamy! I knew that I had to make that version of Janna (also, why can't the 3D model be like the Chinese Art?? haha)

The first thing I did was order worbla and watch videos of Kamui cosplay, over and over and over and over again. Now that I think about it, It was very silly of me but the first thing I made out of worbla was a freaking breastplate! So if you look closely at my breastplate there are a lot of kinks... but I like it. Cosplay is a learning process after all. In the end I'm happy with my breastplate and I can say I know how to make breastplate out of worbla. hehe

I made the rest of the armor pieces in worbla as well and compared to the breastplate; these were much easier to make. Something that people don't tell you about worbla is that when you overheat it, it bubbles and you can't get rid of those. I learned that by trial and error so I was much more careful.

I then painted the rest and fixed the armor with velcro straps bands that attach to metal rings (again, a great tip learned from Kamui)

The staff was rushed and done in 3 days. I had made a previous version but it was too big and out of proportions so I scrapped it. The core is made out of expanding foam that I sculpted, covered in tape and papier maché and painted. The globes are demi acrylic spheres that I painted from the inside.

The skirt/train was a bit inspired from Britthebadger's Janna cosplay. Instead of having only one layer, I also made mine with 2 layers of sheer white voile, the inside the demi circle shorte with the lace trim and the exterior one much longer with the a gold bias tape that I painted with the same gold paint I had used for the armor (I couldn't tolerate that they weren't the same shade of gold!)

For the wig, I used a Luthien wig from Arda wigs that I straightened. I wanted it to be a bit wavy so while it was still hot from the straightening irong, I braided it and stored it. I chose to wore Janna's hair down but not let it get messy during the convention; Janna is the Storm's Fury so she's not supposed to have nice, untangled hair! The ears are from Aradani Studio!

Finally, for shoes, I hoped for comfortably 4.5 inches platform nude heels I've had for a while since I knew I would be walking a lot.

Here are some cosplays videos where my Janna is featured in! :D If you'd like to see more pictures, check out my FB page or my Deviantart. I'm starting to receive picture from photographers, so I'll be uploading them in the upcoming weeks!

Otakuthon 2013 Recap

Otakuthon is over but is it really? No convention is really over without a con recap!

On Thursday, when I was done with the last bits of sewing and glueing, I picked up my badge with an old friend, Chris, also known as Hentai_God (7 years later, I still can't get over his cosplay name...hahaha). We had met at the first Otakuthon and been friends since but had lost contact in recent years so it was nice to see each other again!

Friday, I left home early with my Panty cosplay and my Janna staff so I could leave it with friends downtown. Finally, Cha and I headed to the convention as Panty and Stocking from PS&G! Before shooting with Michaëlle Charette, I was able to hang out with friends and to shop around a bit. I bought the most AMAZING Alpaca plushie ever! I had promised myself that it would be my only purchase at Otakuthon and it pretty was~ Finally, we wrapped up the night with a shoot our sweetheart Ray Lum after which, Cha and I pretty much both went home :)

On Saturday, I got up early and got ready in my friend's hotel room. It was a bit chaotic; apparently, it was the room to get ready in! I was out quickly since I had a photoshoot in my Janna cosplay with Fotofong in the morning. I then joined the League of Legends meet-up where I met the hung out with DeltaRee, Ashe, Kitsurie and many many more! I couldn' stay long since I had another shoot with White Specs Photography followed by a shoot with Belziir Photography.

When I got back to the convention, I was exhausted and hungry to I met with GebGeb, Genkimami and CelticSakura and we went for dinner in Chinatown and had a lot of fun! I got home at around 1h30am that night! No party for me~

Finally, on Sunday I headed to the Saint-Joseph Oratory in my Chi cosplay with CosZStudio to get some footage for a cosplay video he is making. Then I headed to the convention where I hung out with friends again. I met Vickybunnyangel and Trickylove for lunch and we were later joined by Mike of EleventhPhotograph. My final photoshoot of the week-end was with Michaëlle Charette. Just before the dealers' room was closing, I was able to buy all the art I wanted (because really... that all I'm interested in buying at conventions most of the time...) at a fraction of the cost.

Note to self: buy art when the dealers and artist alley is closing :D

Overall, I would say that I had the best Otakuthon. I was extremely busy and I barely used my pass since I was so busy with photoshoots and making new friends! Usually, after a convention most people experience a "con depression"... to be honest, I'm experiencing a convention bliss right now. Otakuthon was just so smooth and I can't wait for next year~

New blog layout + Update!

Doesn't this blog look fresher and brighter? It's thanks to the great work of JL, Emily's (from THISWASFOREVER) boyfriend! We've been working together for some time now and he was able to finalize everything last week, just before Otakuthon!

I was too busy with final preparations for the convention that I didn't blog about it and I thought that a simple tweet/instagram post wasn't enough for all the work that JL put into it. I find the side bars button to be a lot of fun! :D

If you're interested in JL's work, feel free to contact Emily :)

Lately I haven't been blogging a lot and you're thinking: "cue the excuses to why she wasn't blogging" haha to be honest I had nothing to blog about. Nothing interesting was happening. I also was questionning myself as to what I wanted to do with this blog.

I don't know if it's because Otakuthon was last week-end and I had an amazing time (will do a recap another time) but I feel like my passion for cosplay has been renewed, that it's even stronger. For some time, I felt that it was lost. I can assure you that you will definitely see more cosplay content on this blog!

Being the bad guy

Some time ago I had a huge fight with a friend and one thing she said to me and to other people is that the only reason I was trying so hard to fix our friendship was so that I wouldn't be perceived as a "bad person". That really hurt me and really got me thinking.

Our issues weren't about how people perceived me (I couldn't give a fuck about how people perceived me lol) but than again I do not liked to be misunderstood. So I was trying so hard to get my point across to her, telling her how I felt, how what she said or what she had done had hurt me. I'm known for telling the truth; I may say unpleasant things at time but they are for a good reason and they are the truth as I see it. I was hoping that maybe, she would see that I was just trying to make her understand that I was feeling the same way she was feeling too.

In the end, nobody wants to be perceived as a bad person. I like to believe that people are inherently good and that we can chose the behaviours that affect the perceptions of others. In my case, I wanted her to understand me, does that make me a bad person?

Now I've lost a friend I've cherished for a long time, she thinks and tells people I'm a bad person. It keeps resonating in my head, sigh, it's all so hurtful :(

Janna Cosplay Progress: Painting the Breasplate

Hi everyone! I made this video to show my progress on one of the costumes I'm working on, Janna from League of Legends!

The breastplate is made out of Worbla. It's my first time working with this material and the breasplate was the first thing I made. Looking at it now, and having done other things with Worbla, I would have done it differently. Nonetheless, I'm very proud of how it turned out. It's just how cosplayers are, we look at our work; we are satisfied but we wished we could make this or that better hahaha

A lot of my learning material came from the wonderful Kamui Cosplay, the queen of Armor making. I don't think I would have challenged myself without seeing her updates everyday on Facebook :)

I can't wait to finish this costume and show you all the finish product!

Did you switch over?

Why Google Reader that retired a week ago, I hope you all migrated your blog reading lists to Bloglovin!

For myself, I have been using Google Reader for a long time and I'm annoyed that everyone has to switch over because it is shutting down but I have to admit, Bloglovin' interface is really cool! Make sure to add my blog to your reading list so you don't miss anything!

Cosplayholix: among the best

I swear I'll stop posting about Cosplay stuff soon! But I thought you all might enjoy this video put together by Yernad featuring "best and awesome cosplays of AN 2013"! I'm flattered since I'm in it, along with other beautiful cosplayers, such as Vickybunnyangel, Sachie and Ringo!

Fortune's dilemma

The pictures you see above were taken during anyone during a photoshoot with one of the most awesomest cosplay photographer, Ray Lum. One evening, I was bored so I walked in to my friends room and they were shooting some beautiful (and a bit sexy oh oh oh) pictures. Once they were done, the girls offered me to give it a try too, since Ray was all set up. It was A LOT of fun!!

Fast forward today, I have had the pictures for some time and I still can't decide whether I should upload them or not.

It is not that I am naked, I wouldn't dare take such pictures lol what is making me hesitate is because my top is clearly a bra. Adding to the sexy atmosphere of the picture, what scares me is that my picture might be mistaken for something else than cosplay...

But I'm also thinking "whatever. The pictures are absolutely beautiful, they're your favourite from the whole convention, you're using them everywhere as your profile picture, you haven't photoshopped them at all. Girls your age have had more revealing pictures on the Internet for years now.

Dilemma dilemma.... in a way.... Am I an Internet prude? haha

Anime North

I just came back from Anime North and had a really fun time! Last time I was at Anime North, I was 17 or 18, and there was a lot of drama. So I was a little bit apprehensive going again since I did not have a great time when I first attended. I planned the trip for my friends and I too and we ended up having fun :)

I cosplayed the character Miss Fortune from League of Legends on Friday and Saturday, keeping it simple with only one cosplay for the week-end. I will blog more in details about the cosplay itselt later but about the convention itself, there is nothing more complicated than having more than one cosplay when you are not home and when you have large props! It was really windy too so my wig was a mess after only a few hours and my hat broke too so I had to hand-sew it back... At first, I thought everything was going to be a disaster!

I also met a lot of nice people, such as Ray Lum and met fellow cosplayers Sachie et VickyBunnyAngel :) and made new friends like such as Gabriel (cosplaying Twisted Fate in the picture above!) Lyena, Vincent and much more!

Finally, one of the memorable things I did was a live stream for Crunchyroll! There was a booth streaming for their website and I ended up staying there for over an hour since everyone on the other side was so nice. It was a lot of fun!

There is also this thing about conventions where you discover who your real friends are. Conventions have this light-shedding effect on personal relations something and it had that effect on some of my friends. A friend really disappointed me... oh well, these things happen?

Withdrawal, Graduation and Meeting Joyce!

Hi everyone!

I thought a little update on everything would be nice since I haven't blogged in so long...

For a few months now, I've been in the process of changing epilepsy medications and gradually introducing a new medications. Since I had been taking the old one for years, the process had to be done very slowly and had to be monitored. Not going to lie, it wasn't easy but I am much happier now on the new medication. I've lost a considerable amount a weight as a result of the withdrawal and some other minor side effects but I am much happier now in regards of my health!

I lost over 10 pounds in this process.
*disclaimer disclaimer*
this weight loss was a side effect, not something I wanted. I was happy with my body,
still am. I ate like a pig and still pig ;) blablabla

Since we are on the topic of happiness, I FUCKING FINALLY GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE. Some of you might remember that last year, I wasn't able to graduate. I went back to school anyway, worked hard and now I can finally be in University full time. I already got in at UdeM for East Asian Studies and History.

Finally, a few weeks ago, I met Joyce from Sparkly Playground! Joyce is in Montreal for her dream job but since she's far from home, I thought it might be fun to cook breakfast for her since she has probably been eating hotel food for a while. We had brunch at my place and of course, had to take some photobooth picture together :)

Finally, some changes are coming to the look of this blog so please bare with how it looks like right now. :)

So that's pretty much it for my life and blog update!

I'm leaving for Toronto in 2 days for Anime North! If any of you are doing, let me know, I would love to meet you!!

So I ragequitted my hair last week... well not quite. I didn't shave or drastically cut my hair. I'm too much of a whimp to ever do something like that... But we went to the Polar Bears Club Spa with Dominique to celebrate our birthdays and my hair turned an icky grey/white/purple colour from all the baths action! It was horrifying, considering I had touched up the colour the week prior!

I realized that I was always dying my hair, pretty much every two weeks, or less! Gurl, ain't nobody got time for that! I also had 200$ worth of Headkandy pink extensions, in very good condition sitting in box that had barely been used... so I decided to dye my hair back to pink. I just had enough of the constant hair dying!

Instead of going to a salon to get the rest of of my hair bleaching, I  decided to do it at home, using vol 20 peroxide and blue powder bleach. I had my father help me apply the bleach to the back of my head (isn't my father super awesome? It was his first time and he did an amazing job! He was so proud!) and only left the bleach on for only 13 minutes.

Once the purple was out, I WAS SO HAPPY! I have to admit, I was tempted to leave my hair blonde/white... but then I thought...

I dyed it back to pink.

Blogger's block + looking for some help

I never thought I would hit this but I have hit an inspiration block: I don't know what to blog about these days. I've been wanting to revamp this blog for a while now but oddly enough, everyone I've contacted has let me down.

Seriously, what's the point of having a portfolio and a website showing off all the blog revamps you've done if you cut the line of communication after 2 weeks... rather rude... plus one of them has been updating their blog so I feel like an idiot inquiring for their services... Good thing I haven't paid them yet, AH!!

In any cases, while I go recharge and rethink of what direction I want this blog to take, if any of you or one of your acquaintances has knowledge and experience in blog revamping, please contact me by email at ! I would definitely be interested in working with you!! :D

Only requirement: reply to my emails ( come on, I don't even send a lot, maybe 1 or 2 a week...)

Your sacrifice will not have been in vain

Do you have siblings? I have two brothers. You've seen my older brother Etienne in my travel pictures in Korea but I've never really talked about my younger brother. I love my younger brother but he has a terrible, terrible attitude sometimes. Most of the time, he's 21 going on 16. Picture that high school kid, who's loud and oblivious in the bus making a ruckus and bothering everyone with his equally loud and oblivious friends. That's my brother. Except he's of legal drinking age and can drive. Soooooooooo that's just great.

My younger brother and I are polar opposites. I like a quiet and peaceful home whenever our parents are away and he sees an opportunity for hangouts, booze and drugs. Soooooooooo that's also just great.

But what kills me, sometimes I think my brother skipped that line when they were giving out empathy. My brother has been back from a ski trip for 3 days now and his luggage has been in the dining room ever since. In order to do to the kitchen, you kinda have to go through to the dining room so it's in the way. And being oblivious, he not only left it there, but also left it there opened. And we're not talking teeny tiny luggage, we're talking HUGE ASS SKI TRIP luggage.

I didn't say anything about it but I just literally RIPPED MY WHOLE TOENAIL OFF FROM HIS STUPID LUGGAGE that has been there for THREE FUCKING WHOLE DAYS.

So here I am, missing a toenail. And it's bleeding. And I hate blood. And I'm thinking: " Oh hell no. Your sacrifice will not have been in vain. He will learn from this, he will learn pain. MY PAIN"

So I call him up, still sobbing;

" 'Ssup"

"I just ripped my entire toenail on your luggage and it's bleeding every where."

" K. Well it's not my fault. Bye"

Sooooooo going back to that part where my brother has no empathy. Yep. BUT one of his friends, Simon, has some. A little bit. In fact. of all his douchy friends, he's the only one I like. So instead, I'm hoping Simon was around when I called him. Since my brother couldn't even say " Oh my, I'm sorry, I should have cleaned it up earlier, are you gonna be ok?" I imagined the following post phone call conversation to make myself feel better;

" Wtf my sister is weird"

" What's up "

" She just called me to tell me she ripped her toenail on my luggage."

" Ouch that hurts man, happened to me once. How did it happen?"

" Iunno man, don't care."

" Whad'ya mean? Wasn't she snooping in your room?"

" No, the luggage was in the dining room. "

" Wait, you left your shit there since you got back?"

" Yeah. So what?"

" Come bro... that's kinda your fault if she ripped her toenail. Clean up your shit man."

" Are you serious? "

" Dude, do you know how painful it is to lose a toenail? I'm dead serious man."

So now I feel a bit better. Thank you Simon for making my brother a bit less of a jerk by being nice... at least in my head. And now, I'm gonna go tend of my ripped toenail.

A few weeks ago, Mitsu from Universal Doll was selling some items from her Liz Lisa Fukubukuro. It was a steal because, DUH AND/OR HELLO, Liz Lisa!!!  and her price was so extremely reasonable that I went crazy on Twitter to buy it!

I'm just so happy right now, this dress is so feminine and cute! It is a bit cold to wear it right now but I can't wait to wear it out. To top it off, Mitsu added a pair of her favourite lashes and a sweet card! <3

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

My friend Julia asked me on Twitter what were my favourite Lush products... honestly, 180 characters are not enough to talk about my favourite products considering how Lush crazy I am!

Why I love Lush so much?

I could tell you about all that amazing vegan and eco-friendly stuff that have going on... but you already know that. The reason why I like their products so much is because the fragrances are nice. Simple as that. I'm also REALLY picky about customer service and there's nothing more annoying then a pushy sales person; every time I walk into Lush and ask for help, I feel like I'm hanging out with my best friend and just talking about beauty products. It's silly, but it's extremely important to me!

Bubble bars

Lush is really popular for their bath bombs but I'm really into their bubble bars! I like to take bubble baths while watching Netflix in my iPad! Bath bombs are a one time use kind of products whereas bubble bars, you don't have to put the whole bar at once. Protip: I like to use a pair of scissors to cut a bit of product every time I want to take a bath! My favourites are; The Comforter, Blue Skies & Fluffy White Clouds, Superstar (unavailable?) Candy Mountain (available during the holidays) and Christmas Eve (available during the holidays).

The Comforter and Blue Skies & Fluffy White Clouds (pictures from

Massage bars

I mentioned before that my left arm is weird and how I have to constantly massage it so it doesn't hurt as much. I like to use their massage bars for that: helps relieve pain in my muscles AND smells so nice. Boyfriend associate their scent to me as I use them instead of perfurme! My favourites are; Shimmy Shimmy ( but I wished their also made a non glitter version of this one! ), Hottie and Tender Is The Heart.

Tender Is The Heart (picture from

Hair & Others

Daddyo? Daddyo. Daddyo! You have blonde hair? Use this. You have crazy funky hair colour and you hate it when your bleached yellow tones start peaking through? Use this. That is all. Daddyo. Dry lips (damn you winter)... Mint Julips to the rescue! Given you could probably find a DIY version on this product online, I like how this tastes like mint instead of Olive you can eat it once you're done scrubbing your lips!

Daddyo and Mint Julips (pictures from

I've also just received other products so I don't have an opinion on those yet but I'm looking forward to trying out their solids soaps; Snowcake, Mr Punch, Queen of Hearts and Snow Globe (available during the holidays)!

What are some of your favourite Lush products? I'm always looking to try different products :)

Lilac Dream

I'm not going to lie, going lilac was a bold and ambitious move. I had grown attached to my pink hair but realised that I was ready for something else... besides, every other day, someone would come up to me and tell me about some other girl's pink hair they saw....

At the end of November, I asked Noah from Paris Coiffure to bleach my hair as white as possible; we both thought it was going to be easy but we were so wrong! Given I had been dying my hair pink for a year, we knew there was going to be a lot of colour deposit but we didn't know how stained my hair was! In the end, there was still some pink left but after some toner, it was faded and would be barely noticeable under a purple colour.

after the bleach: still a bit pink.

I was in a hurry to dye my hair: I didn't want to have pink/silver ish hair so I used Manic Panic Ultra Violet since my La Riche Directions' hadn't arrived yet. It really helped kill some of the pink that was left in my hair and gave it a nice lavender shade!

using Ultra Violet: I was hospitalized later that day for the crazy rash you can see on my face and arms :(

The color was nice but I wasn't quite what I was aiming for: too pink, not lilac enough so when the La Riche Direction dyes arrived, I dyed my hair again, this time using a whole jar of Lilac!

using Lilac: uneven due my hair not being white everywhere, but still quite nice!

I then realized how painfully hard it was to maintain purple hair: pink hair was a breeze when I look back! With pink hair, I would go at least 4 weeks without touching up my colour because it was fading and uneven. With purple hair, I can't go beyond 3 weeks because by week 3, the colour is extremely faded and uneven! So I decided to use La Riche Directions in Violet and added some Manic Panic in Shocking Blue and the result was really nice! A bit dark but if there is one thing that's true for all funky hair colours: IT WILL FADE!

very dark and even! Guaranteed to last longer!! :D

11 days later, it was still looked A-MA-ZING for New Year's Eve!

In the end, lilac hair is a lot more challenging compared to pink hair and I will definitely be blogging more extensively about it once I'm done experimenting with dyes and ratios. Which shade do you like the most?  :)

Some of you may be familiar with my best friend and nemesis Ray...we argue publicly on Twitter all day, everyday... But I would like to invite you all to check out his work because it's truly mind blowing. I'm used to it, I see his projects at work, when I hang out at his place... he's always editing and working on something.

His most recent video features our good friend Aymen (motion capture extraordinaire and guy in black shorts) and our coworker Manuel (white loose top with black rimmed glasses). They're both amazing dancers; they combined their skills and Ray's genius video magic to produce the video above so please check it out and give my boys a holler on twitter @afternull and @manu_baribeau :)

Hi 2013

I hope everyone had a good time during the holidays and that you all celebrated with your loved ones! I took some times off from work and pretty much everything in life to rest and recharge myself. I also took some time to reflect back on 2012.

January was quiet and I found an amazing hairdresser (Noah @ Paris Coiffure Dorval ) at the end of the month and decided to fully commit to my pink hair by bleaching it! Things got serious in February with the student strikes everywhere and I was overwhelmed with the stress of how it would affect my studies: if someone is going to fuck my studies up, it’s going to be me, not students on strike (selfish, don’t care) so I got involved in the “NO” movement in my school. I never got involved in any school politics before so it was interesting and I met amazing people and learned so much about myself. I then celebrated my birthday quietly with my family with cake and flowers

Spring brought bad news... remember that bit about fucking up my studies... well that’s kinda what happened and I failed two classes. The news truly destroyed me and I didn’t really know what to do so I did a little bit a retail therapy and decided to focus on my job instead. I had no idea what to do about school at that point so least I could do was so focus on becoming someone within the company. I also attended the GlossyBox party where I met a lot of amazing bloggers, like Sarah-Jane who’s reallllly inspirational!

By July, I was burned out so I took a week off to travel to... Connecticut. Not as wild and exotic as South Korea but I was really happy to catch up with Braeden and to learn how to fish. I also got super long extensions (oh that I miss dearly!!) and attended Otakuthon as Babydoll from Sucker Punch! I got the ok from my neurologist and finally got my learner’s and started learning how to drive!!

From Otakuthon, my cosplay fever was back and I cosplayed Zatanna at the Montreal ComicCon and wore my Black Cat ( Felicia Hardy ) cosplay at a club and won 300$! To solve my little schooling problem, I decided to give university a shot and took one class of Mandarin at Université de Montréal. I also decided that it was time to redecorate my room... my computer also decided that it didn’t want to live anymore so I welcomed my first iMac instead ( dear Dell laptop, you are SO not missed!). I had enough of pink hair so I dyed it lavender/lilac!

The year ended by me falling sick again but that didn’t stop me from working and then taking some time off. I was back to myself by January 31st and started the new year partying!

Overall, I think 2013 had extreme lows and extreme highs. I am way happier today than I was a year ago and I think I’ve grown a lot as a person from 2012.

I'm a little bit late but happy new year everyone <3 p="p">
